Part-Time Associate Dentist – Near South Suburban Chicago (Dolton, IL)

Schedule: Wednesdays and Every Other Saturday

We are looking for a part-time associate dentist to join our established, locally owned general dental practice in Dolton, Illinois. This role is to cover Wednesdays and every other Saturday on a consistent basis, with the possibility of additional days becoming available over time if there is mutual interest.

You will be stepping into an existing patient base with steady demand. The focus is on providing good dentistry in a supportive, well-run environment — not production pressure or volume-driven care.

The Practice

The practice is owned and led by a general dentist with nearly 40 years of experience. We are independent, non-corporate, and relationship-focused — with both patients and team members.

We run on time, avoid overscheduling, and value a calm, respectful workday. The atmosphere is professional, upbeat, and human.

The Work

We are a comprehensive general dental practice. You are encouraged to provide the care you are comfortable with and enjoy doing. Support and referrals are available when needed.

Who This Is Likely a Good Fit For

This role may be a good match if you:

  • Genuinely enjoy helping patients and find meaning in relieving pain, restoring function, and improving confidence
  • Prefer a positive, low-drama workplace with a sense of humor
  • Value patient relationships over rushing through appointments
  • Are comfortable working independently while being part of a supportive team
  • Appreciate a practice where doing the right thing for the patient comes first

Experience level is flexible. We care more about how you treat people than how many years you’ve been in practice.

Schedule Details

  • Wednesdays
  • Every other Saturday (8:00 AM – 2:00 PM)
  • Additional days may become available over time if desired

Interested?

If this sounds like a place you’d enjoy practicing — even just one or two days a week — we’d be happy to have a conversation and share more details.

What current and former Associates Say

I worked as an associate at Pleasant Dental® for about 3.5 years, and truly couldn’t have asked for a better place to work.

Dr. Dietrich is not only an incredible dentist but also a mentor and a friend. He will offer advice when asked, but is completely non-judgmental, and not at all a “helicopter owner.”

If there is any indication of what an amazing environment Pleasant Dental® is, it is the longevity of the other staff. Lisa has been working with “doc” forever, along with Maria up front. Assistants are amazing, well-trained, and most of them have also been around 2+ years. The collegial and friendly environment cannot be understated, and it really made coming to work fun.

The patient population here is long-standing and, understandably, places great trust in the Pleasant Dental® name. Thanks to the robust patient flow and fact that they do not accept Medicare/Medicaid or HMO insurances, I was definitely very happy with compensation here.

Prior to coming here, I had experience with problems common in other offices, and particularly corporate/DSO types—ineffective front office staff, poorly trained assistants, and high turnover. Working here was an eye-opening experience in my journey as a dentist. I saw the possibility of happiness and satisfaction as an associate.

If we hadn’t left the Chicago area, I would have stayed working with Doc and his team indefinitely!

~ Dr. Shruti Gandhi

Working at Pleasant Dental was nothing short of transformative.

For over 2.5 years, I have had the privilege of being an associate at one of the most well-run, genuinely enjoyable dental practices I’ve encountered in my career.

Dr. Dean isn’t just a phenomenal clinician—he’s a mentor and a genuinely kind human being. He offers guidance when needed but never micromanages. His leadership style fosters both professional growth and personal confidence.

What truly sets Pleasant Dental apart is the culture. The staff have been there for many years and I’ve worked with some of the best dental assistants out there. Everyone truly cares and puts the patient first.

The patients themselves are a joy to work with—kind, respectful, and genuinely appreciative. The positive energy they bring makes every day that much more fulfilling.

Joining Pleasant Dental was a breath of fresh air. It redefined what it means to feel truly happy, supported, and professionally satisfied as an associate dentist.
